We followed him up the mountain. We thought that this was the cross We would bear though we could Not see. The trek tired us and at a bend, We paused and rested And slept. When we awoke, we saw three Shining, blindingly white and now Awake, we saw another world. A world beyond time, beyond care and pain. A world beyond all that troubled us. We saw the leader and the prophet, We saw and heard the Logos, The center of it all. Though we did not at first understand, We saw through the clouded mirror The harsh wood of the cross and The very face of love. It changed us utterly. In the mist of the cloud We burned white but did not perish. When the cloud lifted we knew The tents were not needed. We descended into the valley of men. We knew we were on the road to Jerusalem, On the road to salvation... On the road to Eternity.
I hope you are surviving all the strange weather we have been having! We took on a little over 6” of rain here over the last 48-hours. Enjoyed the readings for the second Sunday of Lent and this kind of poured out of me - I hope you enjoy!
